The Boundaries of the Land
1 The Lord gave Moses 2 the following instructions for the people of Israel: “When you enter Canaan, the land which I am giving you, the borders of your territory will be as follows. 3 The southern border will extend from the wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom. It will begin on the east at the southern end of the Dead Sea. 4 Then it will turn southward toward Akrabbim Pass and continue on through Zin as far south as Kadesh Barnea. Then it will turn northwest to Hazar Addar and on to Azmon, 5 where it will turn toward the valley at the border of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean.
6 “The western border will be the Mediterranean Sea.
7 “The northern border will follow a line from the Mediterranean to Mount Hor 8 and from there to Hamath Pass. It will continue to Zedad 9 and to Ziphron, and will end at Hazar Enan.
10 “The eastern border will follow a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. 11 It will then go south to Harbel, east of Ain, and on to the hills on the eastern shore of Lake Galilee, 12 then south along the Jordan River to the Dead Sea.
“These will be the four borders of your land.”
13 So Moses said to the Israelites, “This is the land that you will receive by drawing lots, the land that the Lord has assigned to the nine and one-half tribes. 14 The tribes of Reuben and Gad and the eastern half of Manasseh have received their property, divided according to their families, 15 on the eastern side of the Jordan, opposite Jericho.”
The Leaders Responsible for Dividing the Land
16 The Lord said to Moses, 17 “Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun will divide the land for the people. 18 Take also one leader from each tribe to help them divide it.” 19-28 These are the men the Lord chose:

29 These are the men that the Lord assigned to divide the property for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan.
Granice ziemi kanaanejskiej i jej podział
1 I przemówił Pan do Mojżesza tymi słowy:
2 Rozkaż Izraelitom i powiedz im: Gdy przyjdziecie do ziemi kanaanejskiej — a jest to ziemia, która wam przypadnie w dziedzictwie, ziemia kanaanejska w jej granicach —
3 Waszym południowym krańcem będzie teren od pustyni Syn wzdłuż Edomu, a wasza południowa granica ciągnąć się będzie od brzegu Morza Słonego ku wschodowi.
4 Potem wasza granica skręci na południe od Maale-Akrabim i przejdzie ku pustyni Syn, i krańce jej sięgać będą na południu do Kadesz-Barnea, stąd biec będzie dalej na Chasar-Addar, minie Asmon,
5 Następnie od Asmon granica ta skręci ku Rzece Egipskiej i sięgać będzie aż do morza.
6 Granicą zachodnią zaś będzie dla was Wielkie Morze; ono będzie waszą granicą zachodnią.
7 Wasza granica północna będzie taka: Wymierzycie ją sobie od Wielkiego Morza aż do góry Hor.
8 Od góry Hor pociągniecie ją aż do miejsca, gdzie się idzie do Chamat, a krańce tej granicy sięgną do Sedad.
9 Następnie granica będzie biec do Zifron, a skończy się w Chasar-Enan. To będzie wasza granica północna.
10 Granicę wschodnią wytyczycie sobie od Chasar-Enan do Szefam;
11 Następnie granica ta zejdzie od Szefam do Rybla na wschód od źródła i potem granica ta schodzić będzie w dół, i dotknie brzegu morza Kinneret od strony wschodniej;
12 Potem granica ta zejdzie w dół ku Jordanowi, a krańce jej będą sięgać do Morzą Słonego. W obrębie tych granic mieścić się będzie wasza ziemia.
13 I rozkazał Mojżesz synom izraelskim: To jest ziemia, którą przez los obejmiecie w dziedziczne posiadanie, a którą Pan rozkazał nadać dziewięciu i pół plemionom,
14 Gdyż plemię synów Rubena według swych rodów i plemię synów Gada według swych rodów, i pół plemienia Manassesa wzięły już swoje dziedzictwo;
15 Dwa i pół plemienia wzięły już swoje dziedzictwo za Jordanem naprzeciw Jerycha na wschodzie.
16 I przemówił Pan do Mojżesza tymi słowy:
17 To są imiona mężów, którzy wam rozdzielą ziemię: Kapłan Eleazar i Jozue, syn Nuna,
18 Dobierzecie sobie po jednym księciu z plemienia celem podziału ziemi.
19 A oto są imiona tych mężów: z plemienia Judy Kaleb, syn Jefunnego;
20 Z plemienia Symeona Szemuel, syn Ammihuda;
21 Z plemienia Beniamina Elidad, syn Kislona;
22 Z plemienia synów Dana książę Bukki, syn Jogliego;
23 Z synów Józefa, z plemienia synów Manassesa książę Channiel, syn Efoda;
24 Z plemienia synów Efraima książę Kemuel, syn Sziftana;
25 Z plemienia synów Zebulona książę Elisafan, syn Parnacha;
26 Z plemienia synów Issachara książę Paltiel, syn Azzana;
27 Z plemienia synów Asera książę Achihud, syn Szelomiego,
28 Z plemienia synów Naftaliego książę Pedahel, syn Ammihuda.
29 To są ci, których Pan wyznaczył, aby przekazali synom izraelskim dziedzictwo w ziemi kanaanejskiej.
