Śmierć Jana Chrzciciela
(Mar. 6,14—29Łuk. 9,7—9)1 W tym czasie usłyszał tetrarcha Herod wieść o Jezusie.
2 I rzekł sługom swoim: To jest Jan. Chrzciciel; on został wzbudzony z martwych i dlatego cudowne moce działają w nim.
3 Albowiem Herod pojmał Jana, zakuł w kajdany i wtrącił do więzienia dla Herodiady, żony Filipa, brata swego.
4 Bo Jan. mówił mu: Nie wolno ci jej mieć.
5 I chciał go zabić, ale bał się ludu, gdyż mieli go za proroka.
6 A gdy obchodzono urodziny Heroda, córka Herodiady tańczyła przed gośćmi i spodobała się Herodowi.
7 Dlatego pod przysięgą obiecał dać jej to, czegokolwiek by zażądała.
8 A ona za namową matki swej rzekła: Daj mi tu na misie głowę Jana Chrzciciela.
9 I zasmucił się król, ale ze względu na przysięgę współbiesiadników kazał jej dać.
10 Posłał więc i kazał ściąć Jana w więzieniu.
11 I przyniesiono głowę jego na misie, i dano dziewczęciu, a ono zaniosło ją matce swojej.
12 I przyszli uczniowie jego, wzięli ciało i pogrzebali je, i poszedłszy, opowiedzieli Jezusowi.
Nakarmienie pięciu tysięcy
(Mar. 6,30—44Łuk. 9,10—17Jan 6,1—13)13 Gdy Jezus o tym usłyszał, oddalił się stamtąd w łodzi na miejsce puste, na osobność. A kiedy o tym usłyszał lud, poszedł za nim z miast piechotą.
14 I wyszedłszy, ujrzał mnóstwo ludu i zlitował się nad nimi, i uzdrowił chorych spośród nich.
15 A gdy nastał wieczór, przystąpili do niego uczniowie jego i rzekli: Miejsce to jest puste, a godzina już późna; rozpuść więc ten lud, aby poszedł do wiosek i kupił sobie żywności.
16 A Jezus im rzekł: Nie trzeba, żeby odchodzili, dajcie wy im jeść.
17 Oni zaś mu powiedzieli: Mamy tutaj tylko pięć chlebów i dwie ryby.
18 A On rzekł: Przynieście mi je tutaj.
19 I rozkazał ludowi usiąść na trawie, wziął pięć chlebów i dwie ryby, spojrzał w niebo, pobłogosławił, potem chleby łamał i dawał uczniom, a uczniowie ludowi.
20 I jedli wszyscy, i byli nasyceni; i zebrali z pozostałych odrobin dwanaście pełnych koszów.
21 A tych, którzy jedli, było około pięciu tysięcy mężów oprócz niewiast i dzieci.
Jezus chodzi po morzu
(Mar. 6,45—52Jan 6,16—21)22 I zaraz wymógł na uczniach, że wsiedli do łodzi i pojechali przed nim na drugi brzeg, zanim rozpuści lud.
23 A gdy rozpuścił lud, wstąpił na górę, aby samemu się modlić. A gdy nastał wieczór, był tam sam.
24 Tymczasem łódź miotana przez fale oddaliła się już od brzegu o wiele stadiów; wiatr bowiem był przeciwny.
25 A o czwartej straży nocnej przyszedł do nich, idąc po morzu.
26 Uczniowie zaś, widząc go idącego po morzu, zatrwożyli się i mówili, że to zjawa, i ze strachu krzyknęli.
27 Ale Jezus zaraz do nich powiedział: Ufajcie, Ja jestem, nie bójcie się!
28 A Piotr, pdpowiadając mu, rzekł: Panie, jeśli to Ty jesteś, każ mi przyjść do siebie po wodzie.
29 A On rzekł: Przyjdź. I Piotr, wyszedłszy z łodzi, szedł po wodzie i przyszedł do Jezusa.
30 A widząc wichurę, zląkł się i, gdy zaczął tonąć, zawołał, mówiąc: Panie, ratuj mnie.
31 A Jezus zaraz wyciągnął rękę, uchwycił go i rzekł mu: O małowierny, czemu zwątpiłeś?
32 A gdy weszli do łodzi, wiatr ustał.
33 A ci, którzy byli w łodzi, złożyli mu pokłon, mówiąc: Zaprawdę, Ty jesteś Synem Bożym.
Uzdrowienia w Genezaret
(Mar. 6,53—56)34 A gdy się przeprawili, przybyli do ziemi Genezaret.
35 I poznali go mężowie onej miejscowości, roznieśli wieść po całej owej okolicznej krainie, i przyniesiono do niego wszystkich, którzy się źle mieli,
36 I prosili go, aby się mogli dotknąć szaty jego; a którzy się go dotknęli, zostali uzdrowieni.
1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, 2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
3 ¶ For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife. 4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. 5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. 7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. 8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger. 9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her . 10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. 11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. 12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
13 ¶ When Jesus heard of it , he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof , they followed him on foot out of the cities. 14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
15 ¶ And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18 He said, Bring them hither to me. 19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
22 ¶ And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
34 ¶ And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; 36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
