Potomkowie Ezawa
1 Oto potomkowie Ezawa, czyli Edomu. 2 Ezaw pojął żony spośród córek kananejskich: Adę, córkę Elona, Chittyty, i Oholibamę, córkę Any, wnuczkę Sibeona, Chiwwity, 3 i Basmat, Izmaelitkę, siostrę Nebajota. 4 Ada urodziła Ezawowi Elifaza, Basmat – Reuela, 5 a Oholibama – Jeusza, Jalama i Koracha. To są synowie Ezawa, którzy urodzili mu się w ziemi kananejskiej. 6 Potem Ezaw wziął swoje żony, synów i córki, wszystkich domowników, stada, wszystkie swoje zwierzęta oraz całe mienie, które zdobył w ziemi kananejskiej, i poszedł do innego kraju, z dala od Jakuba, swojego brata. 7 Ich dobytek bowiem był tak duży, że nie mogli mieszkać razem. Ziemia, w której przebywali, nie mogła ich pomieścić z powodu licznych stad. 8 Ezaw zamieszkał więc na wyżynie Seir. Ezaw, czyli Edom.
9 A oto potomkowie Ezawa, praojca Edomitów, na wyżynie Seir. 10 Oto imiona synów Ezawa: Elifaz, syn Ady, żony Ezawa, i Reuel, syn Basmat, żony Ezawa. 11 Synami Elifaza byli: Teman, Omar, Sefo, Gatam i Kenaz. 12 Timna zaś, która była nałożnicą Elifaza, syna Ezawa, urodziła Elifazowi Amaleka. To są potomkowie Ady, żony Ezawa. 13 Synowie Reuela to: Nachat, Zerach, Szamma i Mizza. Byli to potomkowie Basmat, żony Ezawa. 14 A oto synowie Oholibamy, córki Any, wnuczki Sibeona, żony Ezawa – ona urodziła Ezawowi Jeusza, Jalama i Koracha.
15 Na czele potomków Ezawa stali synowie Elifaza, pierworodnego Ezawa: naczelnik Teman, naczelnik Omar, naczelnik Sefo, naczelnik Kenaz, 16 naczelnik Korach, naczelnik Gatam i naczelnik Amalek. Oni byli na czele szczepu Elifaza w ziemi edomskiej – są potomkami Ady. 17 Synowie Reuela, syna Ezawa, to: naczelnik Nachat, naczelnik Zerach, naczelnik Szamma i naczelnik Mizza. Oni stali na czele szczepu Reuela w ziemi edomskiej – są potomkami Basmat, żony Ezawa. 18 Potomkowie Oholibamy, żony Ezawa, to: naczelnik Jeusz, naczelnik Jalam i naczelnik Korach. Oni stali na czele potomków Oholibamy, córki Any, żony Ezawa. 19 To są potomkowie Ezawa, czyli Edomu, to są ci, którzy stali na ich czele.
20 Synowie Seira, Choryty, mieszkańcy tego kraju to: Lotan, Szobal, Sibeon, Ana, 21 Diszon, Eser i Diszan. Oni stali na czele Chorytów, potomków Seira w ziemi edomskiej. 22 Synami Lotana byli: Chori, Hemam, a siostrą Lotana była Timna. 23 Potomkowie Szobala to: Alwan, Manachat, Ebal, Szefo i Onam. 24 Potomkowie Sibeona to: Ajja i Ana. To jest ten sam Ana, który znalazł gorące źródła na pustyni, gdy pasł osły Sibeona, swojego ojca. 25 A oto potomkowie Any: Diszon i Oholibama, córka Any. 26 Potomkowie Diszona to: Chemdan, Eszban, Jitran i Cheran. 27 Synowie Esera to: Bilhan, Zaawan i Akan. 28 Synowie Diszana to: Us i Aran. 29 Na czele Chorytów zaś stali: naczelnik Lotan, naczelnik Szobal, naczelnik Sibeon, naczelnik Ana, 30 naczelnik Diszon, naczelnik Eser i naczelnik Diszan. Oni stali na czele Chorytów w kraju Seir.
31 A oto królowie, którzy panowali w ziemi edomskiej, zanim król objął władzę nad Izraelitami. 32 W Edomie panował Bela, syn Beora, a jego miasto nazywało się Dinhaba. 33 Gdy Bela umarł, panował po nim Jobab, syn Zeracha, z Bosry. 34 Po śmierci Jobaba panował Chuszam z kraju Temanitów. 35 Po śmierci Chuszama panował Hadad, syn Bedada, który pobił Madianitów na polu moabskim. Jego miasto nazywało się Awit. 36 Po śmierci Hadada panował Samla z Masreki. 37 Po śmierci Samli panował Szaul z Rechobot nad rzeką. 38 Po śmierci Szaula panował Baal-Chanan, syn Akbora. 39 Po śmierci Baal-Chanana, syna Akbora, panował Hadar. Jego miasto nazywało się Pau, jego żona zaś miała na imię Mehetabeel, a była córką Matredy, córką Me-Zahaba.
40 Na czele zaś potomków Ezawa według ich rodów, ich miejscowości nazwanych ich imionami, stali: naczelnik Timna, naczelnik Alwa, naczelnik Jetet, 41 naczelnik Oholibama, naczelnik Ela, naczelnik Pinon, 42 naczelnik Kenaz, naczelnik Teman, naczelnik Mibsar, 43 naczelnik Magdiel i naczelnik Iram. Oni stali na czele Edomu według ich siedzib, posiadanych przez nich w kraju. To był Ezaw, praojciec Edomitów.
The Descendants of Esau
(1 Chronicles 1.34-37)1 These are the descendants of Esau, also called Edom. 2 Esau married Canaanite women: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Hivite; 3 and Basemath, the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth. 4 Adah bore Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel; 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons were born to Esau in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the people of his house, along with all his livestock and all the possessions he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went away from his brother Jacob to another land. 7 He left because the land where he and Jacob were living was not able to support them; they had too much livestock and could no longer stay together. 8 So Esau lived in the hill country of Edom.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, the ancestor of the Edomites. 10-13 Esau's wife Adah bore him one son, Eliphaz, and Eliphaz had five sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. And by another wife, Timna, he had one more son, Amalek.
Esau's wife Basemath bore him one son, Reuel, and Reuel had four sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
14 Esau's wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon, bore him three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15 These are the tribes descended from Esau. Esau's first son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the following tribes: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, 16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
17 Esau's son Reuel was the ancestor of the following tribes: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
18 The following tribes were descended from Esau by his wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 19 All these tribes were descended from Esau.
The Descendants of Seir
(1 Chronicles 1.38-42)20-21 The original inhabitants of the land of Edom were divided into tribes which traced their ancestry to the following descendants of Seir, a Horite: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
22 Lotan was the ancestor of the clans of Hori and Heman. (Lotan had a sister named Timna.)
23 Shobal was the ancestor of the clans of Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Zibeon had two sons, Aiah and Anah. (This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness when he was taking care of his father's donkeys.) 25-26 Anah was the father of Dishon, who was the ancestor of the clans of Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. Anah also had a daughter named Oholibamah.
27 Ezer was the ancestor of the clans of Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Dishan was the ancestor of the clans of Uz and Aran.
29-30 These are the Horite tribes in the land of Edom: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
The Kings of Edom
(1 Chronicles 1.43-54)31-39 Before there were any kings in Israel, the following kings ruled the land of Edom in succession:

The area where each of these tribes lived was known by the name of the tribe.
