The Descendants of Esau
(1 Chronicles 1.34-37)1 These are the descendants of Esau, also called Edom. 2 Esau married Canaanite women: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Hivite; 3 and Basemath, the daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth. 4 Adah bore Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel; 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. All these sons were born to Esau in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the people of his house, along with all his livestock and all the possessions he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went away from his brother Jacob to another land. 7 He left because the land where he and Jacob were living was not able to support them; they had too much livestock and could no longer stay together. 8 So Esau lived in the hill country of Edom.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, the ancestor of the Edomites. 10-13 Esau's wife Adah bore him one son, Eliphaz, and Eliphaz had five sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. And by another wife, Timna, he had one more son, Amalek.
Esau's wife Basemath bore him one son, Reuel, and Reuel had four sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
14 Esau's wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon, bore him three sons: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15 These are the tribes descended from Esau. Esau's first son Eliphaz was the ancestor of the following tribes: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, 16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
17 Esau's son Reuel was the ancestor of the following tribes: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were all descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
18 The following tribes were descended from Esau by his wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 19 All these tribes were descended from Esau.
The Descendants of Seir
(1 Chronicles 1.38-42)20-21 The original inhabitants of the land of Edom were divided into tribes which traced their ancestry to the following descendants of Seir, a Horite: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
22 Lotan was the ancestor of the clans of Hori and Heman. (Lotan had a sister named Timna.)
23 Shobal was the ancestor of the clans of Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Zibeon had two sons, Aiah and Anah. (This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness when he was taking care of his father's donkeys.) 25-26 Anah was the father of Dishon, who was the ancestor of the clans of Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. Anah also had a daughter named Oholibamah.
27 Ezer was the ancestor of the clans of Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Dishan was the ancestor of the clans of Uz and Aran.
29-30 These are the Horite tribes in the land of Edom: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
The Kings of Edom
(1 Chronicles 1.43-54)31-39 Before there were any kings in Israel, the following kings ruled the land of Edom in succession:

The area where each of these tribes lived was known by the name of the tribe.

8 así que Esaú habitó en el monte de Seír. Esaú es también Edom.
9 Estas son las generaciones de Esaú, padre de Edom, en el monte de Seír.
10 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Esaú: Elifaz, hijo de Ada, mujer de Esaú; Reuel, hijo de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.
11 Los hijos de Elifaz fueron Temán, Omar, Sefó, Gatán y Cenaz.
12 Timna fue concubina de Elifaz hijo de Esaú, y el hijo que ella le dio fue Amalec. Estos son los hijos de Ada, mujer de Esaú.
13 Los hijos de Reuel fueron Najat, Zeraj, Samá y Miza; estos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.
14 Los hijos que dio a luz Aholibama, mujer de Esaú e hija de Aná, que era hijo de Sibón, fueron: Jeús, Jalán y Coré, hijos de Esaú.
15 Los jefes de entre los hijos de Esaú fueron: Los hijos de Elifaz, el primogénito de Esaú: los jefes Temán, Omar, Sefó, Cenaz,
16 Coré, Gatán y Amalec. Estos son los jefes de Elifaz en la tierra de Edom; estos fueron los hijos de Ada.
17 Y estos son los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú: los jefes Najat, Zeraj, Samá y Miza; estos son los jefes de la línea de Reuel en la tierra de Edom; estos hijos vienen de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.
18 Y estos son los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú: los jefes Jeús, Jalán y Coré; estos fueron los jefes que descienden de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú e hija de Aná.
19 Estos son los hijos de Esaú, y sus jefes. Esaú es también Edom.
20 Estos son los hijos de Seír el horeo, que habitaban en aquella tierra: Lotán, Sobal, Sibón, Aná,
21 Disón, Eser y Disán; estos son los jefes de los horeos, hijos de Seír, en la tierra de Edom.
22 Los hijos de Lotán fueron Jorí y Hemán; Timna fue hermana de Lotán.
23 Los hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manajat, Ebal, Sefo y Onam.
24 Los hijos de Sibón fueron Ayá y Aná. Este Aná es el que halló manantiales en el desierto, mientras cuidaba los asnos de Sibón, su padre.
25 Los hijos de Aná fueron Disón y Aholibama, hija de Aná.
26 Los hijos de Disón fueron: Hemdán, Esbán, Itrán y Querán.
27 Los hijos de Eser fueron: Bilán, Zaván y Acán.
28 Los hijos de Disán fueron: Uz y Arán.
29 Los jefes de los horeos fueron: los jefes Lotán, Sobal, Sibón, Aná,
30 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos fueron los jefes de los horeos en la tierra de Seír, según sus mandos.
31 Los reyes que reinaron en la tierra de Edom, antes de que los hijos de Israel tuvieran rey, fueron estos:
32 Bela hijo de Beor, rey de Edom. El nombre de su ciudad fue Dinaba.
33 Cuando murió Bela, reinó en su lugar Jobab hijo de Zeraj, de Bosra.
34 Cuando murió Jobab, reinó en su lugar Jusán, de la tierra de Temán.
35 Cuando murió Jusán, reinó en su lugar Hadad hijo de Bedad, el que derrotó a Madián en el campo de Moab. El nombre de su ciudad fue Avit.
36 Cuando murió Hadad, reinó en su lugar Samla, de Masreca.
37 Cuando murió Samla, reinó en su lugar Saúl, de Rejobot, a la orilla del Éufrates.
38 Cuando murió Saúl, reinó en su lugar Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor.
39 Cuando murió Baal Janán hijo de Acbor, reinó en su lugar Hadar. El nombre de su ciudad fue Pau; el nombre de su mujer fue Mehitabel hija de Matred, hija de Mezab.
40 Estos son los nombres de los jefes de Esaú por sus linajes, lugares y nombres: Timna, Alva, Jetet,
41 Aholibama, Elá, Pinón,
42 Cenaz, Temán, Mibsar,
43 Magdiel e Iram. Estos fueron los jefes de Edom según su lugar de residencia en la tierra de su posesión. Edom es el mismo Esaú, padre de los edomitas.
