King Uzziah of Judah
(2 Chronicles 26.1-23)1 In the twenty-seventh year of the reign of King Jeroboam II of Israel, Uzziah son of Amaziah became king of Judah 2 at the age of sixteen, and he ruled in Jerusalem for fifty-two years. His mother was Jecoliah from Jerusalem. 3 Following the example of his father, he did what was pleasing to the Lord. 4 But the pagan places of worship were not destroyed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. 5 The Lord struck Uzziah with a dreaded skin disease that stayed with him the rest of his life. He lived in a separate house, relieved of all duties, while his son Jotham governed the country.
6 Everything else that Uzziah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah. 7 Uzziah died and was buried in the royal burial ground in David's City, and his son Jotham succeeded him as king.
King Zechariah of Israel
8 In the thirty-eighth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam II became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for six months. 9 He, like his predecessors, sinned against the Lord. He followed the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against King Zechariah, assassinated him at Ibleam, and succeeded him as king.
11 Everything else that Zechariah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
12 So the promise was fulfilled which the Lord had made to King Jehu: “Your descendants down to the fourth generation will be kings of Israel.”
King Shallum of Israel
13 In the thirty-ninth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Shallum son of Jabesh became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for one month.
14 Menahem son of Gadi went from Tirzah to Samaria, assassinated Shallum, and succeeded him as king. 15 Everything else that Shallum did, including an account of his conspiracy, is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel. 16 As Menahem was on his way from Tirzah, he completely destroyed the city of Tappuah, its inhabitants, and the surrounding territory, because the city did not surrender to him. He even ripped open the bellies of all the pregnant women.
King Menahem of Israel
17 In the thirty-ninth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for ten years. 18 He sinned against the Lord, for until the day of his death he followed the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 19 Tiglath Pileser, the emperor of Assyria, invaded Israel, and Menahem gave him thirty-eight tons of silver to gain his support in strengthening Menahem's power over the country. 20 Menahem got the money from the rich men of Israel by forcing each one to contribute fifty pieces of silver. So Tiglath Pileser went back to his own country.
21 Everything else that Menahem did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel. 22 He died and was buried, and his son Pekahiah succeeded him as king.
King Pekahiah of Israel
23 In the fiftieth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for two years. 24 He sinned against the Lord, following the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 25 An officer of Pekahiah's forces, Pekah son of Remaliah, plotted with fifty men from Gilead, assassinated Pekahiah in the palace's inner fortress in Samaria, and succeeded him as king.
26 Everything else that Pekahiah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
King Pekah of Israel
27 In the fifty-second year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for twenty years. 28 He sinned against the Lord, following the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin.
29 It was while Pekah was king that Tiglath Pileser, the emperor of Assyria, captured the cities of Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, and Hazor, and the territories of Gilead, Galilee, and Naphtali, and took the people to Assyria as prisoners.
30 In the twentieth year of the reign of Jotham son of Uzziah as king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah plotted against King Pekah, assassinated him, and succeeded him as king. 31 Everything else that Pekah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
King Jotham of Judah
(2 Chronicles 27.1-9)32 In the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah as king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king of Judah 33 at the age of twenty-five, and he ruled in Jerusalem for sixteen years. His mother was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. 34 Following the example of his father Uzziah, Jotham did what was pleasing to the Lord. 35 But the pagan places of worship were not destroyed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. It was Jotham who built the North Gate of the Temple.
36 Everything else that Jotham did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah. 37 It was while he was king that the Lord first sent King Rezin of Syria and King Pekah of Israel to attack Judah. 38 Jotham died and was buried in the royal tombs in David's City, and his son Ahaz succeeded him as king.

2 Azarías tenía entonces dieciséis años, y reinó cincuenta y dos años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jecolías, y era de Jerusalén.

4 Sin embargo, no se quitaron los altares en los montes, sino que el pueblo seguía ofreciendo sacrificios y quemando incienso en esos altares.
5 Pero el Señor hirió al rey con lepra, y estuvo leproso hasta el día de su muerte. Vivía en una casa aparte, y su hijo Yotán estaba a cargo del palacio y de gobernar al pueblo.

7 Cuando Azarías fue a reunirse con sus antepasados, lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David, y en su lugar reinó su hijo Yotán.
Reinado de Zacarías
8 Azarías tenía treinta y ocho años de reinar sobre Judá cuando Zacarías hijo de Jeroboán comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó seis meses.
9 Pero hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor, tal y como lo habían hecho sus antepasados, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
10 Salún hijo de Jabés conspiró contra él, y en presencia de su pueblo le quitó la vida y reinó en su lugar.
11 Los demás hechos de Zacarías se hallan registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.
12 Con su muerte se cumplió lo que el Señor le había anunciado a Jehú, cuando le dijo: «Tus hijos ocuparán el trono de Israel hasta la cuarta generación.» Y así fue.
Reinado de Salún
13 Uzías tenía treinta y nueve años de reinar sobre Judá cuando Salún hijo de Jabés comenzó a reinar en Samaria, pero reinó solo un mes
14 porque Menajén hijo de Gadi salió de Tirsa para atacar a Samaria. En el ataque, Menajén hirió de muerte a Salún, y entonces reinó en su lugar.
15 Los demás hechos de Salún, y la conspiración que tramó, se hallan registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.
16 Menajén saqueó la ciudad de Tifesaj, y mató a todos los que estaban allí y en los alrededores, comenzando por la ciudad de Tirsa. Como no le habían abierto las puertas, saqueó la ciudad y abrió en canal a todas las mujeres que estaban embarazadas.
Reinado de Menajén
17 Azarías tenía treinta y nueve años de reinar sobre Judá cuando Menajén hijo de Gadi comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó diez años en Samaria.
18 Pero hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor. Durante todo su reinado no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
19 El rey Pul de Asiria llegó y atacó el país, y Menajén le entregó treinta y tres mil kilos de plata para que le ayudara a confirmarse en el trono.
20 Este dinero lo impuso Menajén como tributo sobre Israel. Todos los poderosos y opulentos tuvieron que dar cincuenta monedas de plata cada uno, para entregárselas al rey de Asiria; así el rey de Asiria no puso un pie en el país, sino que se retiró.

22 Cuando Menajén fue a reunirse con sus antepasados, en su lugar reinó su hijo Pecajías.
Reinado de Pecajías
23 Azarías tenía cincuenta años de reinar sobre Judá cuando Pecajías hijo de Menajén comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó dos años en Samaria.
24 Pero hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
25 Pecaj hijo de Remalías, que era uno de sus capitanes, conspiró contra él y, apoyado por Argob y Arie, más cincuenta galaaditas, le quitó la vida en el palacio real de Samaria, y reinó en su lugar.

Reinado de Pecaj
27 Azarías tenía cincuenta y dos años de reinar sobre Judá cuando Pecaj hijo de Remalías comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó veinte años en Samaria.
28 Pero hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán hijo de Nabat hizo pecar a Israel.
29 En los días del rey Pecaj de Israel, el rey Tiglat Piléser de Asiria llegó y tomó las ciudades de Iyón, Abel Betmacá, Yanoja, Cedes, Jazor, Galaad, Galilea, y toda la tierra de Neftalí, y a sus habitantes los llevó cautivos a Asiria.
30 Yotán hijo de Uzías tenía veinte años de reinar cuando Oseas hijo de Elá conspiró contra Pecaj hijo de Remalías, y le quitó la vida y reinó en su lugar.
31 Los demás hechos de Pecaj, y todas sus obras, se hallan registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.
Reinado de Yotán
(2 Cr 27.1-9)32 Yotán hijo de Uzías comenzó a reinar sobre Judá cuando Pecaj hijo de Remalías tenía dos años de reinar sobre Israel.
33 Cuando Yotán comenzó a reinar, tenía veinticinco años, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jerusa, y era hija de Sadoc.
34 Y Yotán hizo lo recto a los ojos del Señor, pues se condujo tal y como lo había hecho Uzías, su padre,
35 y además construyó la puerta más alta del templo del Señor. Sin embargo, no fueron quitados los altares de los montes, sino que el pueblo siguió ofreciendo sacrificios y quemando incienso en ellos.
36 Los demás hechos de Yotán, y todas sus obras, se hallan registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá.
37 Por esos días, el Señor comenzó a enviar contra Judá al rey Resín de Siria, y a Pecaj hijo de Remalías.
38 Y cuando Yotán fue a reunirse con sus antepasados, fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de su antepasado David, y en su lugar reinó su hijo Ajaz.
