Regulations for the Sabbath
1 Moses called together the whole community of the people of Israel and said to them, “This is what the Lord has commanded you to do: 2 You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is to be sacred, a solemn day of rest dedicated to me, the Lord. Anyone who does any work on that day is to be put to death. 3 Do not even light a fire in your homes on the Sabbath.”
Offerings for the Sacred Tent
(Exodus 25.1-9)4 Moses said to all the people of Israel, “This is what the Lord has commanded: 5 Make an offering to the Lord. Everyone who wishes to do so is to bring an offering of gold, silver, or bronze; 6 fine linen; blue, purple, and red wool; cloth made of goats' hair; 7 rams' skin dyed red; fine leather; acacia wood; 8 oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense; 9 carnelians and other jewels to be set in the High Priest's ephod and in his breastpiece.
Articles for the Tent of the Lord's Presence
(Exodus 39.32-43)10 “All the skilled workers among you are to come and make everything that the Lord commanded: 11 the Tent, its covering and its outer covering, its hooks and its frames, its crossbars, its posts, and its bases; 12 the Covenant Box, its poles, its lid, and the curtain to screen it off; 13 the table, its poles, and all its equipment; the bread offered to God; 14 the lampstand for the light and its equipment; the lamps with their oil; 15 the altar for burning incense and its poles; the anointing oil; the sweet-smelling incense; the curtain for the entrance of the Tent; 16 the altar on which to burn offerings, with its bronze grating attached, its poles, and all its equipment; the washbasin and its base; 17 the curtains for the enclosure, its posts and bases; the curtain for the entrance of the enclosure; 18 the Tent pegs and ropes for the Tent and the enclosure; 19 and the magnificent garments the priests are to wear when they serve in the Holy Place—the sacred clothes for Aaron the priest and for his sons.”
The People Bring Their Offerings
20 All the people of Israel left, 21 and everyone who wished to do so brought an offering to the Lord for making the Tent of the Lord's presence. They brought everything needed for use in worship and for making the priestly garments. 22 All who wanted to, both men and women, brought decorative pins, earrings, rings, necklaces, and all kinds of gold jewelry and dedicated them to the Lord. 23 Everyone who had fine linen; blue, purple, or red wool; cloth of goats' hair; rams' skin dyed red; or fine leather, brought it. 24 All who were able to contribute silver or bronze brought their offering for the Lord, and all who had acacia wood which could be used for any of the work brought it. 25 All the skilled women brought fine linen thread and thread of blue, purple, and red wool, which they had made. 26 They also made thread of goats' hair. 27 The leaders brought carnelians and other jewels to be set in the ephod and the breastpiece 28 and spices and oil for the lamps, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet-smelling incense. 29 All the people of Israel who wanted to brought their offering to the Lord for the work which he had commanded Moses to do.
Workers to Make the Tent of the Lord's Presence
(Exodus 31.1-11)30 Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord has chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri and grandson of Hur from the tribe of Judah. 31 God has filled him with his power and given him skill, ability, and understanding for every kind of artistic work, 32 for planning skillful designs and working them in gold, silver, and bronze; 33 for cutting jewels to be set; for carving wood; and for every other kind of artistic work. 34 The Lord has given to him and to Oholiab son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their crafts to others. 35 He has given them skill in all kinds of work done by engravers, designers, and weavers of fine linen; blue, purple, and red wool; and other cloth. They are able to do all kinds of work and are skillful designers.
Reglas para el día de reposo
1 Moisés convocó a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, y les dijo:
«Esto es lo que el Señor les manda hacer:
2 »Seis días se trabajará, pero el día séptimo será para ustedes un día santo de reposo en honor del Señor. Cualquiera que en ese día haga algún trabajo, será condenado a muerte.
3 »En día de reposo no encenderán ustedes ningún fuego en ninguna de sus casas.»
La ofrenda para el tabernáculo
(Ex 25.1-9)4 Moisés habló con toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, y les dijo:
«Esto es lo que el Señor dice y ordena:
5 »Recojan entre ustedes una ofrenda para el Señor. Todo corazón generoso presentará al Señor oro, plata, bronce,
6 azul, púrpura, carmesí, lino fino, pelo de cabra,
7 pieles de carnero teñidas de rojo, pieles de delfín, madera de acacia,
8 aceite para las lámparas, especias para el aceite de la unción y para el incienso aromático,
9 y piedras de ónice y piedras preciosas para engastarlas en el efod y en el pectoral.
La obra del tabernáculo
(Ex 39.32-43)10 »Todos ustedes, los que tengan un corazón sabio, vendrán y harán todas las cosas que el Señor ha ordenado hacer:
11 el tabernáculo y su tienda, su cubierta, sus corchetes, sus tablas, sus travesaños, sus columnas y sus bases;
12 el arca y sus varas, el propiciatorio, el velo de la tienda,
13 la mesa y sus varas, y todos sus utensilios; el pan de la proposición,
14 el candelero del alumbrado y sus utensilios y lámparas, y el aceite para las lámparas;
15 el altar del incienso y sus varas, el aceite de la unción, el incienso aromático, la cortina de la puerta para la entrada del tabernáculo,
16 el altar del holocausto, su enrejado de bronce y sus varas, y todos sus utensilios; la fuente con su base,
17 las cortinas del atrio y sus columnas y bases, la cortina de la puerta del atrio,
18 las estacas del tabernáculo, y las estacas del atrio y sus cuerdas;
19 las vestiduras del servicio para ministrar en el santuario, las vestiduras sagradas del sacerdote Aarón, y las vestiduras de sus hijos para su ministerio sacerdotal.»
El pueblo trae la ofrenda
20 Toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel salió de la presencia de Moisés,
21 y todos los que en su corazón quisieron hacerlo, y todos los que de voluntad se sintieron impulsados, presentaron al Señor una ofrenda para la obra del tabernáculo de reunión, para todo su servicio, y para las vestiduras sagradas.
22 Hombres y mujeres se presentaron por su propia voluntad, y llevaron cadenas, zarcillos, anillos, brazaletes y toda clase de joyas de oro. Todos ofrecían oro al Señor.
23 Todos llevaban lo que tenían: azul, púrpura, carmesí, lino fino, pelo de cabra, pieles de carnero teñidas de rojo, o pieles de delfín.
24 Llevaban al Señor todo lo que podían ofrecer: plata, bronce, y madera de acacia, para toda la obra del servicio.
25 Además todas las mujeres de corazón sabio hilaban con sus manos, y llevaban lo que habían hilado: azul, púrpura, carmesí o lino fino.
26 Todas las mujeres cuyo corazón y sabiduría las impulsó, hilaron pelo de cabra.
27 Los príncipes llevaron piedras de ónice y piedras preciosas para engastarlas en el efod y en el pectoral,
28 así como las especias aromáticas, el aceite para las lámparas y para el aceite de la unción, y para el incienso aromático.
29 Todos los hijos de Israel, hombres y mujeres, que por su voluntad y de corazón quisieron hacerlo, llevaron al Señor una ofrenda voluntaria para toda la obra que, por medio de Moisés, el Señor había ordenado hacer.
Llamamiento de Besalel y de Aholiab
(Ex 31.1-11)30 Moisés les dijo a los hijos de Israel:
«Como pueden ver, el Señor ha designado a Besalel hijo de Uri, hijo de Jur, de la tribu de Judá.
31 Lo ha llenado del espíritu de Dios y le ha dado sabiduría, inteligencia, ciencia y dotes artísticas,
32 para crear diseños y para trabajar en oro, plata y bronce,
33 en el tallado y engaste de piedras preciosas, y en todo trabajo ingenioso en madera.
34 Además, a él y a Aholiab hijo de Ajisamac, de la tribu de Dan, les ha dado la capacidad de enseñar;
35 ha llenado de sabiduría su corazón, para que hagan toda clase de obra artística y creativa en los telares, y de trabajos y diseños bordados en azul, púrpura, carmesí, y lino fino.
