David Captures Rabbah
(2 Samuel 12.26-31)1 The following spring, at the time of the year when kings usually go to war, Joab led out the army and invaded the land of Ammon; King David, however, stayed in Jerusalem. They besieged the city of Rabbah, attacked it, and destroyed it. 2 The Ammonite idol Molech had a gold crown which weighed about seventy-five pounds. In it there was a jewel, which David took and put in his own crown. He also took a large amount of loot from the city. 3 He took the people of the city and put them to work with saws, iron hoes, and axes. He did the same to the people of all the other towns of Ammon. Then he and his men returned to Jerusalem.
Battles against Philistine Giants
(2 Samuel 21.15-22)4 Later on, war broke out again with the Philistines at Gezer. This was when Sibbecai from Hushah killed a giant named Sippai, and the Philistines were defeated.
5 There was another battle with the Philistines, and Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi, the brother of Goliath from Gath, whose spear had a shaft as thick as the bar on a weaver's loom.
6 Another battle took place at Gath, where there was a giant with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. He was a descendant of the ancient giants. 7 He defied the Israelites, and Jonathan, the son of David's brother Shammah, killed him.
8 These three, who were killed by David and his men, were descendants of the giants at Gath.
David captura a Rabá
(2 S 12.26-31)1 A la vuelta de un año, y mientras David estaba en Jerusalén, Joab llevó a campaña al ejército en pleno y fue y sitió la ciudad de Rabá y la conquistó, destruyendo por completo la tierra de los amonitas. Esto sucedió en los días en que los reyes acostumbran salir a la guerra.
2 David le quitó al rey de Rabá la corona de oro, la cual pesaba treinta y tres kilos y estaba adornada de piedras preciosas, y con ella fue coronado David. Además de esto, David sacó de la ciudad cuantioso botín de guerra,
3 y sacó también a la gente que estaba en ella y la puso a trabajar con sierras, trillos de hierro y hachas. Esto mismo lo hizo David con todas las ciudades amonitas, y después de eso David volvió a Jerusalén con todo su ejército.
Los hombres de David matan a los gigantes
(2 S 21.18-22)4 Después de esto se desató en Guézer la guerra contra los filisteos. Sibecay el husatita mató a Sipay, que descendía de los gigantes, y los filisteos fueron derrotados.
5 Pero hubo otra guerra contra los filisteos, y Eljanán hijo de Yaír mató a Lamí, que era hermano de Goliat de Gat, el que blandía una lanza parecida al rodillo de un telar.
6 Y se desató en Gat una guerra más, en la que participó un guerrero de gran estatura, el cual tenía seis dedos en cada mano y en cada pie, es decir, un total de veinticuatro dedos. Este era descendiente de los gigantes,
7 y se puso a insultar a los israelitas, pero Jonatán hijo de Simea, hermano de David, lo mató.
8 Estos fueron los descendientes de los gigantes de Gat, que perdieron la vida a manos de David y de sus siervos.
